Common questions
Are the 360° scenes real?
Not historical photographs — they're AI-generated reconstructions built from historical references. Think informed visualizations of moments we can't actually photograph: the Pyramids mid-construction, a square in Sarajevo on a specific morning, a Tokyo street last summer. We aim for plausible, not perfect.
How does scoring work?
Each round gives you two guesses — where (a pin on the map) and when (a year on the slider). You earn points on both: the closer your pin to the real location, the higher your distance score; the closer your year to the actual date, the higher your time score. Match scores add up over five rounds.
Is Chrononaute free?
Yes. The Daily Challenge and core game modes are free, forever. A Pro plan unlocks unlimited play, extra modes, and more eras — for players who want to keep going past today's five.
